The art of slow riding on a motorcycle is often ignored and dismissed by bikers as an
unnecessary skill. However for many bikers their lack of this particular skill is often the
cause of great anxiety and discomfort resulting in some very ungainly “paddling” around
in car parks and slow moving traffic.
As with most other aspects of motorcycling slow riding is a skill that can be mastered
simply by practice.
As part of our offer of Advanced Training, South Warwickshire Advanced Riders
run a number of skills workshops specifically aimed at improving the skills and techniques
required for slow riding and handling a motorcycle.
The Workshop will cover everything from the correct way to put your bike on and off the
stand (don’t laugh! – many people have never been shown how.) or how to ride very
slowly in a straight line or perform figure of eights in a tighter and tighter circle, or perform
a tight U-turn or even how to come to a complete stop accurately and safely.
If in the unfortunate situation of having dropped your bike can you pick it up again? There
is an easy way and a very hard way – we can show you how!
All of this will be carried out in a safe environment where we can ensure that your skills
and confidence will soar whilst the only part of your bike which will touch the ground will
be the round black things.
Please have a look at our calendar for more dates.
